On 1 Sep 1870, William Maraman sold four adjoining tracts on the south side of Salt River jointly to J. B. English, Alexander Moore and W. C. Piatt, as shown below.

This indenture made and entered into this first day of September 1870 by in between William Maraman of the county of Bullitt and state of Kentucky of the first part and English, Moore and Piatt of the second part.
Witnesseth that the said party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of $6780, $2260 in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, $2260 to be paid in 12 months from the 10th day of September 1870 with interest from said date, $2260 to be paid in 24 months from 10th day of September 1870 with interest thereon from that date, and a lien retained to secure the payment of these two notes, has this day granted, bargained and sold and by these presents do grant, bargain and sell unto the said parties of the second part the several following tracts of land in Bullitt County on Salt River, and lies in several tracts, originally one tract but subdivided between the heirs of F. Maraman, and laid in lots as follows.
No. 1. Allotted to William Maraman and hereby conveyed is bounded as follows, beginning at a forked red oak in Moore's line, thence North 33 3/4° West 255 poles to a stake, thence North 160 poles to a stake and small willow on the bank of Salt River, corner to Lot No. 2, thence up the river at low water mark to an elm, thence South 10 1/2° West 39 poles to a stake, thence South 22 1/2° East 131 poles to the beginning, containing 73 acres.
Lot No. 2. Allotted to Henrietta Maraman and hereby sold is bounded as follows, beginning at a forked red oak in Moore's line and corner to Lot No. 1, thence South 61° West 22 3/4 poles to a red oak in Moore's line, thence North 36 3/4° West 236 poles to a stake, thence North 18° West 133 1/2 poles to a forked sycamore, thence North 64 1/2° West 26 1/2 poles to a cottonwood on the bank of Salt River, corner to Lot No. 8, thence up Salt River at low wate rmark and binding thereon to a stake and small willow, corner to Lot No. 1, thence with said line South 161 poles to a stake, thence South 33 3/4° East 255 poles to the beginning, containing 103 acres.
Lot No. 3. Allotted to Kate Maraman and hereby sold is bounded as follows, to wit. Beginning at a red oak in Moore's line, corner to Lot No. 2, thence North 36 3/4° West 236 poles to a stake, thence __ 18° West 133 1/2 poles to a sycamore, thence North 64 1/2° West 26 1/2 poles to a cottonwood on the bank of Salt River, corner to Lot No. 2, thence down Salt River as it meanders to low water mark __ poles to a sycamore and willow, corner to Lot No. 4, thence South 76° East 33 polrs to a post at fence, thence with the fence South 17° West 18 poles to a post at the slat fence, thence South 42° East 251 poles to a stake near a burr oak in Moore's line and corner to Lot No. 4, thence with Moore's line North 61° East 20 poles to the beginning, containing 83 acres.
Lot No. 4, allotted to Elizabeth and hereby conveyed, is bounded as follows. Beginning at a sycamore at a branch, corner to McHenry Maraman, thence with his line South 42° East 202 poles to two hickories in Moore's line, thence with the same North 61° East 50 poles to a stake near a burr oak in Moore's line and corner to Lot No. 3, thence North 42° West 251 poles to a stake or post at the slat fence, thence with the fence North 17° East 18 poles to a stake, thence North 76° West 33 poles to a sycamore and willow on the bank of Salt River and binding thereon at low water mark to the mouth of a branch, corner to McHenry Maraman, thence up the meanders of the branch to the beginning, containing 80 acres.
The party of the first part is invested with full title to the land here sold, but there is a lien on Lots No. 1, 3 & 4 for $__ due to John Troutman, which lien is to be paid off and discharged by said Maraman before the first note falls due; if not paid by said time, the parties of the second part can pay off and discharge said lien out of the deferred payments due by the party of the second part.
The family graveyard and said land is reserved by the sale to the party of the first part and the right of way to and from the same.
To have to hold the said land hereby conveyed unto the sadi parties of the second part and their heirs forever by this deed of fee simple with general warranty. In witness whereof the said party of the first part has hereto set his hand and seal. Possession to be delivered under this deed 10th of April 1871. (signed) W. Maraman
