Of the 1400 acres that he received from John Edwards, Patrick McGee deeded 450 acres to Michael Troutman on 27 Mar 1800 that adjoined the tracts of Benjamin Pope Jr. and Richard Simmons. A transcription of that deed is given below, together with an image of the deed itself. This indenture made this 27th day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred between Patrick McGee of Nelson County and State of Kentucky of the one part and Michael Troutman of Bullitt County and State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Patrick McGee & his wife for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty pounds current money of the state aforesaid to the said Patrick McGee in hand paid by the said Michael, the receipt whereof the said Patrick doth hereby acknowledge, have granted, bargained and sold and by these presents do grant, bargain and sell & convey unto the said Michael Troutman and his heirs one certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Bullitt and bounded as followeth, to wit. Beginning at  a Spanish oak and dogwood standing on the bank of Salt River, it being Benjamin Pope's upper corner on the river, thence with said Pope's line South twenty three degrees East two hundred and fifty two poles to  a beech in Richard Simmon's line, thence North sixty seven degrees East two hundred and thirty one poles to  two beeches, corner to Richard Simmon's land, thence North twenty three degrees West three hundred and sixty poles to  a white oak & beech and sugar tree standing on the bank of Salt River, thence down the river with the meanders thereof two hundred and sixty poles to the Beginning containing four hundred and fifty acres be the same more or less, it being a part of the settlement & preemption Henry Tillin. To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with all and every of the appurtenances thereon & thereunto belonging unto the said Michael Troutman and his heirs forever to his and their only proper use, benefit and befoof. And the said Patrick McGee and Rachel his wife do further covenant and agree to and with the said Michael Troutman that he the said Patrick and Rachel the right & title of the said tract of land unto the said Michael Troutman and his heirs shall and will warrant and forever defend against the claim of them, the said Patrick McGee and Rachel his wife and their heirs and all others claiming by from or under them but not against the claim or claims of any other person or persons whatsoever. In witness whereof the said Patrick McGee and Rachel his wife have hereunto subscribed their names and affixed their seals the day and year first herein written. (signed) Patrick McGee, Rachel McGee.
At a Court of Quarter Sessions held for Bullitt County on the 27th day of March 1800, this deed was acknowledge by the above named Patrick McGee and Rachel his wife and the said Rachel relinquished her right of dower therein as the law directs which is ordered to be recorded.
