On 14 May 1838, Henry F. Kalfus deeded his half of a 4 acre tract north of Shepherdsville to Benjamin Summers following a circuit court suit involving Summers' father-in-law John Beckwith. Details are shown in the deed transcription below.

This indenture made this 14th of May, A.D. 1838 between Henry F. Kalfus and Matilda, his wife of Shepherdsville, Bullitt County, Kentucky of one part and Benjamin Summers of the same county and state of the other part. Witnesseth that said, Kalfus and wife for and in consideration of the sum of one dollar to them in hand paid, the receipt of which is here by acknowledged, they said Kalfus and wife have sold and by these presents do sell, and convey to Benjamin Summers, a certain parcel of land near the town of Shepherdsville, Bullitt County containing 2 acres being one undivided moiety of a 4 acre lot conveyed by Adam Shepherd to John Beckwith, and sold under a decree of the Bullitt Circuit Court in the chancery cause of Benjamin Summers against John Beckwith heirs by John F. Pope, commissioner and conveyed by said Pope, commissioner to said Kalfus by deed dated 27 Nov 1828 and recorded in Circuit Court deed book A, page 142, reference to said deed and decree and proceedings in said cause will more fully show the boundary &c Said lot lies North of said town and on the road leading to Louisville with its appurtenances.
To have and to hold said moiety or half of said four acre lot of land aforesaid to him said Benjamin Summers and his heirs forever, and said Kalfus covenants to and with said Summers to warrant and defend said moiety or half of said lot to said Summers and to his heirs forever against the claims of the said Kalfus and wife and their heirs and all other persons claiming by from through or under them. And in case said lot of ground or any part thereof is lost by any other claim, said Kalfus is not to be held responsible in any event whatever, this being a quit claim deed olny. Witness the hands and seals of the grantors.
