On 18 Mar 1835, John Relfe sold his one-fifth share of 196 acres on the north side of Salt River, and on both sides of the road leading from Bardstown to Louisville to Charles Hall as shown below.

This indenture made this 18th day of March in the year of our Lord 1835 between John Relfe and Ravey his wife of Howard County and state of Missouri of the one part, and Charles Hall of the county of Bullitt and state of Kentucky of the other part.
Witness that the said John Relfe and Ravey his wife for and in consideration of the sum of $125 to them in hand paid by the said Charles Hall, hath granted, bargained and sold, and by these presents doth grant, bargain and sell unto the said Charles Hall all of their right, title and interest in and to a certain tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the county of Bullitt on Salt River, on the north side of said river, and on both sides of the road leading from Bardstown to Louisville; it being in the same tract that was conveyed by Henry Crist to the widow and heirs of Thomas Relfe dec'd containing 196 acres more or less. The interest hereby conveyed is one undivided fifth part of said land.
To have and to hold the said undivided fifth part of said tract of land with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging to him the said Hall's only proper use and benefit forever. And the said Relfe and Ravey his wife convenant and agree to and with the said Charles Hall that they will and their heirs shall forever warrant and defend the title of the said moiety of land from themselves, their heirs &c and from the claims of every other person or persons whatever, either claiming or to claim unto the said Charles Hall and his heirs forever.
