Albert E. Hubbard to James Wright - 100 Acres

On 28 Mar 1840, Albert E. Hubbard sold 100 acres to James Wright that adjoined his father, Elijah Wright's land along Whitaker Run, as shown below.

This indenture made this 28th day of March in the year of our Lord 1840 between Albert E. Hubbard and Jeriah his wife of the one part and James Wright of the other part, all of the county of Bullitt and state of Kentucky.

Witnesseth that the said Albert E. Hubbard and wife for and in consideration of the sum of $1000 to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath bargained and sold, and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell, alien, release, convey and confirm unto the said James Wright and his heirs forever a certain tract or parcel of land situate, lying and being in the county of Bullitt and state of Kentucky on the waters of Whitaker Run, joining the land of Elijah Wright, and bounded as follows, to-wit.

Beginning at a hickory tree, corner to Elijah Wright, thence with his line North 80° East 120 poles to a stone, thence South 34° East 47 poles to a locust, elm and walnut trees standing on Whitaker's Run, thence __ 32 1/2° West 73 poles to a sugar tree, thence __ 59° West 133 poles to two ironwoods, thence North 3° East 151 poles to the beginning containing 100 acres be the same more or less.

To have and to hold the same with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining to his the said James Wright and his heirs to their only benefit and use forever. And the said Albert E. Hubbard and wife convenants and agrees to and with the said James Wright and his heirs that they will and their heirs shall forever warrant and defend the title of the said tract of land from themselves, their heirs and from the claim or claims of all persons claiming in through or by them and from the claims of all other persons whatever.
