H. O. Maraman to J. B. English - 24+ Acres

On 8 Apr 1867, Henry Oldham Maraman and wife sold 24+ acres on the south side of Salt River to J. B. English, as shown below.

This indenture made and entered into the eighth day of April 1867 by and between H. O. Maraman and Elmira his wife of the county of Bullitt and state of Kentucky of the first part, and James B. English of the county and state aforesaid of the second part.

Witnesseth that the said parties of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of $450 of which amount $50 is this day paid in hand, the balance of $400 is to be paid in 12 months from this date with interest from date, and for which amount the sad party of the second part has this day executed his note to H. O. Maraman of the first part with Charles Lee and William P. Johnson his sureties, and to secure the payment of which a lien is retained upon the land, has granted, bargained and sold and by these presents do grant, bargain and sell unto the said party of the second part the following boundary of land, to wit.

Beginning at a stake on the north side of the county Road near a Hickory tree in Foreman's line, thence North 7 1/4° West 76 poles to two willows on the bank of Salt River, thence down the river with its meanders to J. B. English's corner, thence with J. B. English's line to the county road, thence up the said county road to the beginning, containing 24 acres, 3 roods and 9 poles.

To have and to hold the above described tract of land with all and singular its appurtenances unto him the sad party of the second part and his heirs and assigns forever by this deed of fee simple with general warranty.
