On 25 Aug 1853, H. C. Hamilton sold 27 acres near Mt. Washington to James Wright as shown below.

This indenture made and entered into this 25th day of August in the year 1853 between H. C. Hamilton of the county of Bullitt and state of Kentucky of the first part and James Wright of the same county and state aforesaid of the second part.
Witnesseth that the party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of $877.50 in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained, and sold unto the party of the second part, his heirs and assigns all that tract or parcel of land, situate, lying, and being in the county of Bullitt and near the town of Mt. Washington and bounded as follows.
Beginning at a stake in Finley McGraw's northern line, thence with the same North 27 1/2° East 57 poles 4 links to a stake in the line of William Stevens' land, thence with his line North 79 3/4° West (for 80°) 10 6/25 poles to a stake, thence North 9° East 40 18/25 poles to a stone, corner to S. M. Hobbs' lot, thence with the line of the same North 80° West 47 poles to a stone corner to said Hobbs' lot, thence South 9 1/2° West 40 6/25 poles to a stone, thence South 79 3/4° East 4 poles to a stake, Evans' corner, thence South 30° West 48 11/25 poles to a stake in said line, thence South 78 1/4° East 54 14/25 poles to the place of beginning, containing 27 [acres] be the same more or less, together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining.
To have and to hold the same to the only proper use and behoof of the party of the second part, his heirs and assigns. The party of the first part covenants to and with the party of the second part that he will and his heirs shall forever warrant and defend the title of said land and appurtenances unto the party of the second part, his heirs and assigns forever; and against the claim or claims of all and every person or persons whatsoever.
In witness whereof the said H. C. Hamilton together with Rachael E. Hamilton his wife, who hereby relinquishes her right of dower in and to the lands conveyed in this deed, have hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals this day and year first above written. (signed by grantors)
