On 30 Mar 1901, J. F. Combs, Circuit Court Master Commissioner, at the direction of the court, provided a deed conveying this tract of land from the Hays family to C. L. Croan. Some years later, Croan would sell it to the county for the poor farm.

This indenture made this the 30th day of March 19 1901 between Harriet P. Hays, Thomas H. Hays and Georgia B. Hays his wife, James Clay Hays, Emma Hays, William H. Hays, Kate B Hays, Kate Hays Wilson, Wylie Wilson, Caddie Hays, Georgia Hays, William alias Willie Hays, Nettie Hays, Percy Hays, Lula Martin, Nannie Thweat, Henry Clay Hays, William Hays, George H. Hays, Nannie B. Hays (now Rouse), Clara Hays, Halle Hays, Bradford Hays, James Clay Hays, trustee for William Hays and Richard Hays, his sons, and for Harry Clay Hays, William Hays, Richard Hays, the Louisville Trust Company as assignee of Ben Chapeze, the Louisville Trust Company as assignee of Richard Wathen and W. G. Hays, executor of W. H. Hays, deceased, and the Louisville Trust Company by J. F. Combs, Master Commissioner of the Bullitt Circuit Court of the one part and C. L. Croan of the other part.
Witnesseth that whereas by a judgment of the Bullitt Circuit Court rendered at the December term 1900 of said court in action No. 1319 pending in said court, wherein William G. Hays, executor of the will of W. H. Hays, deceased, was plaintiff and Harriett P. Hays and others were defendants, it was ordered and adjudged that the property hereinafter described be sold and J. F. Combs, Master Commissioner of the Bullitt Circuit Court, was directed to make said sale which was accordingly made as directed in said judgment on the 11th day of March 1901, and C. L. Croan became the purchaser of said property at his bid of $4100.00 and said commissioner having made his report of sale at the March term 1901 of said court, and the same having been confirmed at said term by a further order of said court, and the purchase money having been paid, said J. F. Combs was at said March term 1901 of said court ordered to convey said property for and on behalf of the said parties of the first part to the said C. L. Croan.
Now for and in consideration of the premises aforesaid the said Harriet P. Hays, Thomas H. Hays, Georgia B. Hays, James Clay Hays, Emma Hays, William H. Hays, Kate B Hays, Kate Hays Wilson, Wylie Wilson, Caddie Hays, Georgia Hays, William alias Willie Hays, Nettie Hays, Percy Hays, Lula Martin, Nannie Thweat, Henry Clay Hays, George H. Hays, William W. Hays, Nannie B. Hays, Clara E. Hays, Halle Hays, Bradford Hays, James Clay Hays as trustee for his sons William Hays and Richard Hays, and for Harry Clay Hays, William Hays, Richard Hays, the Louisville Trust Company, assignee of Ben Chapeze, the Louisville Trust Company as assignee of Richard Wathen and W. G. Hays, executor of W. H. Hays, deceased by said J. F. Combs, Master Commissioner do hereby convey to the said C. L. Croan, his heirs and assigns the following described property situated and being in the County of Bullitt and State of Kentucky and bounded as follows, viz.
Beginning at a stake in the county road, the same being N 5° E 12 feet from an elm, being a corner to Hays' 21 acre tract, thence with the center of said road S 72° W (for 71°) W 38 6/11 poles to a stake in the center of said road, and a corner to Columbia Wathen's 21 acre tract lying south of said road, thence with her line S 18 1/2° (for 19°) E 68 poles to a white oak on the side of a knob, thence S 22° E 24 poles to a stake in J. O. Hagan's line, thence N 84 1/2° E 13 3/11 poles to a stake in W. H. Hay's line, thence with the same N 25°30' E 8 poles to a stake in said line, thence South 67°30' E 54 1/2 poles to a stake, corner to Harry Clay Hays' 50 acres, thence with the western line of said 50 acres N 22° E 98 poles to a stake in the center of the county road, and in the line of the 114 acre tract, thence up to said road in the center, S 57°30' E about 15 poles to a stake, corner to said 114 acre tract, and Simmons(?), thence with Simmons' line, being also the line of the 114 acre tract, N 14° E 134 poles to a stake on the south side of the branch, following the center of the ditch for more than half the distance, thence North 62 1/2° West 65 1/6 poles to a stake, the same being South 20° West 7 feet from a hackberry, thence with another line North 68 1/4° West 64 1/3 poles to a willow on the south bank of Long Lick Creek, and same course continued S 25 feet to the center of said creek, thence down said creek in the center with its meanders (the meander line running from the willow on the south bank thereof as follows) S 36°10' West 13 poles, South 74° West 17 9/11 poles, South 69 1/4° W 19 poles, South 38 3/4° West 10 1/5 poles, South 27 1/4° West 10 poles to corner to Columbra Wathen, thence with her live South 25°10' East passing an elm marked for a corner at 35 feet, in all 74 2/3 poles to a stake on the west side of a large ditch, thence with another of her lines South 5° West 39 poles to the beginning, containing 181 7/16 acres.
To have and to hold all the right, title, interest and claim of the parties of the first part in and t osaid property to the said C. L. Croan, his heirs and assigns forever.
