On 18 Feb 1907, William B. Campbell and Lee Dawson together purchased 2 Shepherdsville lots and the livery stable on them from H. H. and Mattie Glenn as shown below. At the time, Campbell was county sheriff and Dawson was one of his deputies.

This indenture made and entered into on this February 18th 1907 by and between H. H. Glenn and Mattie Glenn his wife of Shepherdsville, Bullitt County, Kentucky, parties of the first part, and W. B. Campbell and Lee Dawson, parties of the second part, all of the county of Bullitt, state of Kentucky.
Witnesseth that the parties of the first part, for and in consideration of the sum of $2000 to be paid as follows: $400 due and payable six months from this date, and $800 due and payable 18 months from this date, and $800 due and payable 30 months from this date, for which sums the said second parties have this day executed their joint promissory notes bearing 6% per annum from date until paid, payable quarterly to H. H. Glenn, have granted, bargained and sold, and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell and convey unto the said second parties, their heirs and assigns forever, with covenant of general warranty the following described property, to wit.
Town lot No. 91 and that portion of lot No. 92 that is covered by buildings and occupied by wall and extending about three and one half feet east of wall to fence and running with said fence south to Third Street, lying and being in the town of Shepherdsville, Bullitt County, Kentucky, being situated on the north side of Third Street between Doctor's Alley and lot No. 92, being 40 feet wide by 99 feet and 5 inches in length and adjoining the property of C. R. Smith together with the dwelling house and stables located thereon, being one of the same lots surveyed by James Shanks on the 18th day of July 1809, which survey was approved by an Act of the General Assembly of date January 15, 1811, and being a portion of the same property conveyed to Mary Monroe and J. B. Monroe by G. W. Lutes &c by deed of date May 16th 1895 and recorded in Deed Book No. 31 page 29 in the office of the clerk of the Bullitt County Court, and one of the same lots conveyed by Mary Monroe and J. B. Monroe to E. B. Glenn on the 22nd day of November 1898, recorded in Deed Book 32 page 533 in the office of the clerk of the Bullitt County Court, and inherited by said H. H. Glenn under the will of E. B. Glenn deceased. See Will Book J, page 281, Bullitt County Court clerk's office.
It is stipulated that the said second parties are to keep the property herein conveyed insured for the benefit of the said H. H. Glenn for the amount of the unpaid purchase price until said property has been paid for by said second parties, and upon failure of said second parties to keep said property so insured, then all of said notes are to become due and collectable. It is further stipulated that said property shall be owned and controlled by said second parties until the notes for the unpaid purchase price shall have been paid, and that in the event of the death of either of said second parties, or the desires upon the part of the surviving partner to dispose of said property or to have a partner in same, then the said first party, H. H. Glenn, if he so desires at that time, has the right upon the payment of the value of the share of either in said property to become a partner in same.
A lien is retained on the property herein conveyed to secure the three notes above described. In testimony whereof witness the signatures of the grantors the day and date first above written.
