Elishu Risley to James Risley - 50 Acres

On 16 Jan 1828, Elishu Risley sold 50 acres to James Risley on the waters of Old Man's Run, a tributary of Floyd's Fork, and located northeast of Mt. Washington as shown below.

This indenture made the 16th day of January 1828 between Elishu Risley of the county of Bullitt and state of Kentucky of the one part and James Risley of said county and state of the other part.

Witnesseth that the said Elishu Risley for and in consideration of a comfortable maintenance from him, the said James Risley, during from this time, his natural life, and for which the said James Risley has bound himself to him the said Elishu Risley in an obligation have this day granted, bargained and sold and by these presents do give, grant, bargain and sell unto the said James Risley, his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns forever, a certain tract or parcel of land, situate lying and being on the waters of Old Man's Run and county aforesaid and containing by survey 50 acres and bounded as follows to-wit.

Beginning at a maple and three dogwoods, corner to George Markwells's land and running thence South 80° East 52 1/2 poles to an elm and hickory, thence South 10° West 148 poles to a stone, thence North 88° West 52 1/2 poles to an ash, white oak, black oak and ironwood, another corner to George Markwell's land, thence North 10° East 155 poles to the beginning.

To have and to hold the said 50 acres of land with all and singular the appurtenances to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining unto him the said James Risley, his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns forever. And the said Elishu Risley doth covenant and agree to warrant and defend said land and premises against himself and heirs to him the said James Risley, his heirs and assigns forever.
