James A. Deacon deeded an acre lot to the trustees of school district 21 on 6 Oct 1851 for the Cedar Grove School. Assuming it is the same school site, it was located along present-day Cedar Grove Road west of the intersection with Deatsville Road.

This indenture made and entered into the sixth day of October 1851 between James A. Deacon of the first part and George B. Dent, William A. Rouse and Charles Crenshaw, trustees of school district number 21, called Cedar Grove, Bullitt County, Kentucky. Witnesseth that James A. Deacon of the first part of state of Kentucky and Bullitt County have this day for the purpose of building a school house thereon for the benefit of said Cedar Grove District number 21, Bullitt County, Kentucky, given, conveyed, granted, bargained and sold, and doth by these presents grant, bargain, sell, confirm, and convey for the purposes aforesaid unto George B Dent, William A. Rouse, Charles Crenshaw, trustees of school district number 21 as aforesaid, and their successors in office forever a small parcel of land supposed to be about one acre, be the same more or less, and marked or laid off as follows, to-wit.
Beginning at a sugar tree standing on the south side of the spring branch that is on the tract southwest corner marked A. R., thence eastwardly 60 yards to a mulberry marked A. B., thence northwardly 84 yards to a sugar tree marked A. C., thence westwardly 61 yards to an ironwood marked A. D., thence southwardly 62 yards to the beginning.
To have and to hold the same forever for the purpose aforesaid, I hereby warrant and defend the title to the same against or from myself, my heirs, my executors and administrators, and all other persons whatsoever forever. But the said James A. Deacon reserves and does not convey any rail timber or cedar on the aforesaid piece of land. In testimony hereof I have this day and date above written set my hand and seal.
