Crist & Morehead to Richard Bibb - 300 Acres

On 20 Sep 1799, Henry Crist and Armsted Morehead together sold 300 acres along Long Lick Creek to Richard Bibb. This was part of the 400 acre tract patented to Crist and Solomon Spears.

This indenture made this twentieth day of September in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred and ninety nine between Henry Crist and Rachel his wife and Armsted Morehead of the one part and Richard Bibb of the county of Bullitt of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Henry Crist and Rachel his wife and Armsted Morehead in consideration of three hundred pounds lawful money of Kentucky to them in hand paid by the said Richard Bibb at and before the ensealing and delivery of these presents (the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledge) have bargained and sold and by these presents do and each of them doth bargain and sell unto the said Richard Bibb his heirs and assigns a certain tract or parcel of land lying in the County of Bullitt on the north side of Long Lick Creek adjoining the lands of Benjamin Frye and is three hundred acres more or less, part of four hundred acres granted Solomon Spears and Henry Crist assignees of Parmenas Briscoe by patent bearing date the twentieth day of August one thousand seven hundred and eighty six (one hundred of which said four hundred acres is sold Thomas Speed) and bounded as follows.

Beginning at three white oaks near the gap of the knobs that the road goes through, thence North fifty five degrees East two hundred forty and three quarter poles to two white oaks, thence South thirty five degrees East one hundred twenty and three quarter poles to Speed's corner, thence South fifty five degrees West one hundred and thirty and three quarter poles [should be 110 poles] to another of Speed's corners a hickory and two beeches near the main road, thence South thirty five degrees East with Speed's line one hundred and forty five and one quarter poles to his corner in Spears and Crist's line at a walnut stump and two beeches, thence South fifty five degrees West one hundred thirty and three quarter poles to two hickories, elm and red oak, thence North thirty five degrees West two hundred sixty six poles to the beginning.

Together with all and singular the appurtenances, privileges and advantages thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining with the reversion and reversions, rents, issues and profits. To have and to hold the said three hundred acres of land more or less with the tenements, hereditaments and all and singular other the premises herein before mentioned and every part and parcel thereof unto the said Richard Bibb his heirs and assigns forever. And the said Henry Crist and Rachel his wife and Armstead Morehead for themselves and their heirs the said three hundred acres of land more or less with all and singular the premises before mentioned unto the said Richard Bibb his heirs and assigns free from the claim or claims of them the said Henry Crist and Rachel his wife and Armstead Morehead or either of them, their or either of their heirs and all and every person or persons whatsoever shall, will and do warrant and forever defend by these presents. And we the said Henry Crist and Armsted Morehead do for each of outselves and each of our heirs, executors and administrators covenant and agree to and with the said Richard Bibb that we the said Henry and Armistead and each of our heirs, executors and administrators shall at anytime hereafter when thereto required make and execute any further deed or deeds for the better and more complete conveyance of the three hundred acres of land aforesaid. In witness the said Henry Crist and Rachel his wife and Armsted Morehead have here unto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written.
