Henry Crist to A. C. Kinnison - 400 Acres

On 7 Sep 1844, Henry Crist transferred ownership of 400 acres to Alonzo C. Kinnison for the benefit of Rebecca Jones during her lifetime. Rebecca was Henry's daughter, and Alonzo's mother.


Bullitt County Deed Book L, Pages 11-12

This indenture made and entered into the 7th day of September 1844 between Henry Crist of the county of Bullitt and state of Kentucky of the one part, and Alonzo C. Kinnison of the county and state aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that whereas the said Henry Crist executed to John R. Kinnison in his lifetime a bond for the conveyance of the following tract of land, and said John R Kennison paid said Crist For said land the sum of $500, the purchase money therefore; now in consideration of the premises the said Crist has this day bargained and sold and by these presents does bargain and sell and convey unto the said Alonzo C. Kinnison, only son and heir at law of John R. Kinnison, the following tract or parcel of land lying in Bullitt County on the waters of Salt River on the north side thereof and bounded as follows.

Beginning on the road leading from Shepherdsville to the mouth of the Rolling Fork, 20 poles above the sink holes between where John M. Jones lives and where John Graham resides, thence at right angles to the knob and up the knob the same course to the top, thence at right angles westward 30 poles, thence at right angles so as to strike the original line of the 1000 acre tract of which this is a part, and with the 1000 acre line to the original corner at a poplar, thence with Moore's lines, reversing them to Wilson's line and with Wilson's lines to the pine corner, and thence with Froman's line to the river and down the river with its meanders to Graham's upper corner on the river, and with Graham's line to his corner and thence with the road aforesaid to the sink holes aforesaid, and thence to the beginning, containing 400 acres more or less.

To have and to hold the land hereby conveyed to the said Alonzo C Kinnison and his heirs in trust and for the sole use and benefit of his mother Rebecca Jones during her natural life. Said Rebecca was the wife of John R. Kinnison and said land is to be free and clear of all control of her husband John M. Jones, and not to be subject to any of his debts or liabilities; and at the death of the said Rebecca the land hereby conveyed is to pass in fee simple to the heirs of said Rebecca, and the said Crist, for the consideration aforesaid does hereby warrant the land aforesaid to the said Kinnison for the purposes aforesaid and his heirs and assigns, shall forever warrant and defend the same against the claims of all persons whatsoever.
