John Chaddic Sr. to William Williams - A Town Lot

On 21 Dec 1849, John Chaddic Sr. sold a lot of ground located northeast of the intersection of Third and Main Streets in Shepherdsville, next to the Baptist church lot to William Williams, as shown below.

This indenture made this 21st day of December 1849 between John Chaddic Sr. and Susan his wife of the first part and William Williams, both of the county of Bullitt and state of Kentucky.

Witnesseth that the said John Chaddic Sr. and Susan his wife for and in consideration of the sum of $60 to them in hand paid by the said William Williams, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained and sold, aliened, released, enfoeffed, conveyed and confirmed and by these presents do grant, bargain and sell, alien, release, enfeoff, convey and confirm unto the said William Williams and to his heirs ans assigns a certain piece or lot of land with all the appurtenances, lying and being in Bullitt County, Ky., and adjoining the town of Shepherdsville next t and adjoining the lot of ground belonging to the Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge, commencing at their northern corner and running north 60 feet with Main Street, thence East the same width 199 feet 5 inches to the beginning, and all the estate, right, title, claim, interest and fee of them the said John Chaddic Sr. and Susan his wife, of in and to the same.

To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with all the appurtenances unto the said William Williams and to his heirs and assigns to their only proper use and behoof forever.

And the said John Chaddic and Susan his wife covenant and agree with the said William Williams and with his heirs and assigns that they will and their heirs, executors and administrators sahl warrant and forever defend the said tract or parcel of land with all the appurtenances unto the said William Williams and to his heirs and assigns against all and every person or persons lawfully claiming or to claim the same.
