This deed, written on 11 Sep 1829, transferred 100 acres of land on the south side of Salt River near Shepherdsville from William Caldwell to his brother-in-law Charles Maraman.

This indenture made and entered into the eleventh day of September 1829 between William Caldwell and Elizabeth his wife of the one part and Charles Maraman of the other part. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the payment of three hundred and fifty dollars the said William and Elizabeth do by these presents sell, grant, deliver and convey to said Charles Maraman a certain tract or parcel of land lying in Bullitt County on the south side of Salt River below Shepherdsville including the farm where said Charles Maraman now lives and containing one hundred acres more or less, and bounded as follows, to wit.
Beginning at a honey locust and hickory, being the last end of six hundred acres survey of Shepherd and running thence North 36° East 156 poles to an elm, beech and sweet gum on the bank of Salt River, a corner of Benjamin Stansberry's 450 acres survey, thence South 54° East 102 poles, 15 links to a stake, thence South 36° West 156 poles to a stake in the original line of Shepherd, thence North 54° West 102 poles, 15 links to the beginning.
To have and to hold the same to said Charles Maraman and to his heirs or assigns forever free from the said William Caldwell and wife and their heirs and all other persons whatever claiming under them or in any manner whatever hereby warranting and defending the title of the said tract of 100 acres more or less against the claim or claims of all persons whatever. State of Kentucky, Bullitt County Court Clerk's Office, 12 September 1829. This indenture was this day produced to me, the clerk of the court for said county, in my office and acknowledged by William Caldwell and Elizabeth his wife, grantors therein named, to be their act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned, she the said Elizabeth being by me privily examined separatel and apart from her said husband as the law requires, freely and voluntarily relinquished her right of dower in and to the premises conveyed by this indenture, and the same is thereupon truly recorded in my office.
