In 1862, the heirs of John Anderson sold what was called a fraction of a town lot that lay east of Main Street and adjoining both Lorenzo Hoglan's lot and the public square, also known as the old courthouse square. This may have been part of lot No. 41.

This indenture made and entered into this 17th day of February 1862 by and between Samuel Anderson, John Anderson, William Shane and his wife Ann E. Shane (late Anderson), James H. Anderson and Susan J. Anderson, children and heirs of John Anderson deceased of the first part and John Rickerson of the second part, all of Bullitt County, State of Kentucky. Witnesseth that the party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of $175 in hand paid to the said John Anderson deceased, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained and sold and do by these presents grant, bargain, sell, alien, release, convey and confirm unto the party of the second part a fraction of lot, part of lot No. __, situated the east side of the Main Street of the town of Shepherdsville and adjoining the lot of land owned by Lorenzo Hoglan in said town and adjoining the public square of said town of Shepherdsville, quantity of said fraction of lot not known.
To have and to hold the above described fraction of lot with the appurtenances belonging unto the party of the second part and his heirs and assigns forever; and the party of the first part here covenant to and with the party of the second part that they will and their heirs will warrant and defend the title to said fraction of lot unto the party of the second part against the claim or claims of all and every person or persons lawfully claiming or to claim the same. In testimony whereof the party of the first part have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first written. (Signed by the first parties named above.)
