John Anderson's Executor to Henry Pindell - 190 Acres

As John Anderson's Executor, Thomas W. Riley sold 190 acres of Anderson's land to Henry C. Pindell in December 1856; land that lay along the waters of Blue Lick Run, and was affected by the construction of the railroad.

Be it known that Thomas W. Riley of the City of Louisville, executor of John Anderson deceased, late of Bullitt County, pursuant to the power vested in him by the will of said Anderson of record in the County Court clerk's office of said county, and for and in consideration of $3740, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, does hereby sell, grant and convey to said Henry C. Pindell of the City of Louisville the following described tract of land in the County of Bullitt on the waters of Blue Lick Run.

Beginning at a stone on the west side of the old County Road, corner to Shanklin, and running thence N 88 1/2° W 89 2/10 poles to two white oaks and a buckeye, corner to George C. Shanklin, thence with his line N 8° E 57 6/10 poles to a stake (14 links S 30° W from a sugar tree), thence S 85° W 142 5/10 poles to a stake in Dennis' line (and 8/10 of a pole S 85° W from a sugar tree), thence S 5° E 43 poles to a stone near a black walnut, thence S 14° E 244 poles crossing Blue Lick Run to a stake on the railroad at the Gap of the Knobs, thence N 25° E 64 poles to a stake in the old County Road, thence N 40° E 40 poles to a stone, thence N 36 1/2° E 179 poles to the beginning; 190 acres.

To have and to hold the said land and premises and the rights, privileges and appurtenances thereto belonging to the said Pindell, his heirs and assigns forever, and the said Riley as executor as aforesaid and only as such convenants and binds the estate of said Anderson dec'd as fully as he has under the will power to do, that he will as executor warrant the said land that he is seized thereof in fee and has full power to convey the same, and that it is free from incumbrance. But these covenants do not apply to so much of said land as the railroad company is entitled to the same not being included herein.
