Thomas Owsley's 738 Acre Tract

This survey was located on the waters of Cedar Creek, a tributary of Floyd's Fork. This land was willed to Mary Bryant, wife of John Bryant, as shown in this quote from his will: "To my daughter Mary Bryant I bequeath and give seven hundred and thirty-eight acres lying on the Old Buffalo trace leading from the settlement now of Beards Town to Bullitt's Lick, and she is make a right to one third part of the same to the locator of said land for his trouble." This is transcribed from Madison County Will Book A, Pages 140-142.

Then in 1809, 500 acres of it were sold to Benjamin Summers by the Bryants.
