On 25 Feb 1856, A. C. Kinnison became security for Basil Welch on a note Welch signed to N. Simmons. To secure Kinnison, Welch mortgaged his farm to Kinnison. The debt was paid and mortgage released by 15 Feb 1858.

I hereby sell and convey to A. C. Kinnison the tract of land in Bullitt County where I now live containing about 82 acres, more or less, same bought of Henry Myers. But this conveyance is made to indemnify said Kinnison as my security on a note to N. Simmons for $60 payable twelve months from 23rd of February 1856. Now if I pay said debt and save said Kinnison free and clear of all damage on account of said securityship, then this conveyance to be void. Otherwise to remain in full force. Witness my hand and seal this 25th February 1856. (signed) Basil Welch
