This indenture made this 22nd day of January 1850 between John J. Thomasson and Sally his wife of Trimble County of one part and Henry F. Kalfus of Bullitt County, Kentucky of the other part.
Witnesseth that the said Thomasson and wife for and in consideration of the sum of $225 in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, they the said John J. Thomasson and wife have sold and conveyed and by these presents do sell and convey unto the said Henry F. Kalfus and to his heirs and assigns forever the following lot of land in Shepherdsville, Bullitt County, Kentucky, being parts of lots No. 23 and 24 in the new plan of Shepherdsville, and containing the house or shop adjoining the old jail lot, and the blacksmith shop and bounded as follows.
Beginning at the northwest corner of the old brick jail and corner H. F. Kalfus, thence South 6 1/2° West 40 feet more or less to the north line of Main Cross Street, thence N 83 1/2° West 120 feet more or less to a stake on Main Cross Street, 39 feet 5 inches from the corner of Lot No. 23, thence the course of teh town lots North 6 1/2° West 40 feet more or less to the corner of Kalfus' lot, and thence with Kalfus' lot South 83 1/2° East 120 feet more or less to the beginning with the appurtenances.
To have and to hold the lot of land and the appurtenances here sold unto the said Henry F. Kalfus and to his heirs and assigns forever, and they said Thomasson and wife covenant and agree to and with said Henry F. Kalfus that they will and their heirs shall warrant and forever defend the lot and appurtenances here sold to said Kalfus and to his heirs and assigns forever against the claims of all persons whatever. Witness the hands and seals of the grantors the date aforesaid.
