1827 Shepherdsville Town Trustees Election

Recently we discovered in Deed Book F, pages 489, the following election results.

The candidates are listed below. The capital letter preceding each name is used to identify him in the voting chart below.

A - Abraham Field Jr.
B - Joseph R. Murray
C - George W. Jenkins
D - Brookey Barker
E - George L. Robards
F - Rufus K. Summers
G - Henry F. Kalfus
H - John Chaddic

We have attempted to duplicate the chart as it was written in the deed book. It appears that each voter announced his five choices, and the election clerk kept a running total as each voter's choices were listed.

"At an election held at the court house in Shepherdsville on the 6 of August 1827 for the election of trustees of the town of Shepherdsville, the votes are as follows."
