On 28 Nov 1859, Robert F. Samuels granted the railroad right of way through three Shepherdsville town lots in return for a payment of $100.

For and in consideration of $100 in hand paid, we Robert F. Samuels and Malinda his wife do sell and convey unto the Louisville & Nashville Railroad Company and their heirs and assigns forever with covenant of general warranty the right of way 66 feet wide through lots numbers 20 [likely 29], 13 and 14 in the new plan of Shepherdsville as at present located.
To have until hold said right away with all and singular the appurtenances to the Louisville & Nashville Railroad Company and their heirs and assigns forever. Witness our hands and seals this 28th day of November 1859. (signed) R. F. Samuels, Malinda Samuels
