Jacob Myers' 3099.75 Acre Tract

James Shanks surveyed this large tract of land for Jacob Myers on 17 Oct 1797, and Myers received his deed to the land on 13 Dec 1798.

An almost identical survey and deed to the same land was issued to Benjamin Brown. The tract appears on two plats [#35-153 and #259-25b] located in the T. C. Carroll plats under the name of Jacob Myers. Look for it next to Samuel Chase's 3125 acre tract.

Surveyed for Jacob Myers, 3099 3/4 acres of land in Bullitt County on the north side of Salt River near Bullitt's Lick being four different entries made November 25, 1786, February 10, 1791 and September 27, 1791 by virtue of 4 treasury warrants No. 16760, 20068, 15569, 2677 on the east side of Samuel Chase's 3125 acre survey.

Beginning at [A] said Chase's northeastwardly corner of 2 chestnut oaks on the side of a knob in sight of Bullitt's Lick, thence with said Chase's line South 55° West 1060 poles to [B] 2 beeches and an ash in said Chase's line, a corner of Jacob Myers' 1200 acre survey, thence with said Myers' line South 35° East 240 poles to [C] a poplar and 2 sugar trees, thence with another line of the same survey of 1200 acres South 55° West 150 poles to [D] the corner of Jacob Myers' 467 1/2 acre survey, thence with his line South 35° East 260 poles to [E] a black oak in the back line of said Myers' 5796 1/4 acre survey, thence with said line North 49° East 950 poles to [F] Jacob Froman's corner of chestnut oak and 2 pines on a knob, thence with said Froman's line North 65° East 265 poles to [G] a black oak where William Christian's line intersects said Froman's line, thence North 36° West 436 poles to the beginning.

James Garrard Esquire, Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky , to all to whom these presents shall come, greetings. Know ye that by virtue and in consideration of four land office treasury warrants 16760, 20068, 15569, 2677 there is granted by the said Commonwealth unto Jacob Myers a certain tract or parcel of land containing 3099 3/4 acres by survey bearing date the 17th day of October 1797, lying and being in Bullitt County on the north side of Salt River near Bullitt's Lick and on the east side of Samuel Chase's 3125 acre survey and bounded as followeth, to wit.

Beginning at said Chase's northeastwardly corner of 2 chestnut oaks on the side of a knob in sight of Bullitt's Lick, thence with said Chase's line South 55° West 1060 poles to 2 beeches and an ash in said Chase's line, a corner of Jacob Myers' 1200 acre survey, thence with said Myers' line South 35° East 240 poles to a poplar and 2 sugar trees, thence with another line of the same survey of 1200 acres South 55° West 150 poles to the corner of Jacob Myers' 467 1/2 acre survey, thence with his line South 35° East 260 poles to a black oak in the back line of said Myers' 5796 1/4 acre survey, thence with said line North 49° East 950 poles to Jacob Froman's corner of chestnut oak and 2 pines on a knob, thence with said Froman's line North 65° East 265 poles to a black oak where William Christian's line intersects said Froman's line, thence North 36° West 436 poles to the beginning with its appurtenances to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with its appurtenances to the said Jacob Myers and his heirs forever.
