1849 Mt. Washington Town Trustees Election

We discovered in Deed Book L, page 394 the following election results. Unlike previous listings, this report only identifies those elected, and does not list the voters and how they voted.

At an election begun and held in the town of Mt. Washington in the tavern house of W. W. Hall, all for the purpose of electing trustees of said town to serve as such for one year from this day, said election was held on the 12 of March 1849 and the following persons were elected: H. J. Barnes, Michael Cunningham, William Smith, Owen Roby and Matthias Ash receiving the largest number of votes are hereby duly elected. Given under our hands this 12 of March 1849. (signed) Henry J. Barnes, S. M. Hobbs.

This day H. J. Barnes, Owen Roby and Matthias Ash personally appeared before the undersigned, a Justice of the Peace for said county, and took the oath as Trustees of Mt. Washington for the year 1849. (signed) W. B. Hamilton, J.P.B.C.

State of Kentucky, Bullitt County, to-wit. The foregoing certificate of the election of trustees of the town of Mt. Washington in said county ws the 3rd April 1849 filed in my office for record and the same and this certificate are truly recorded in my office. (signed) N. C. Summers, clerk
