1842 Mt. Washington Town Trustees Election

Poll of an election held at the house of Lewis Snapp Sr. in Mt. Washington, Bullitt County, Kentucky on Monday the 8th day of August 1842 for the purpose of electing trustees for said town for one year.

The candidates are listed below. The capital letter preceding each name is used to identify him in the voting chart below.

A. Peyton Burditt
B. Frederic Johnson
C. James Wright
D. J. H. Snapp
E. J. Q. A. Hall
F. W. W. Swearingen

We have attempted to duplicate the chart as it was written in the deed book. It appears that each voter announced his five choices, and the election clerk kept a running total as each voter's choices were listed. There also appear to be several errors in the poll tally.
