On 12 Sep 1893, William T. Morrow, as assignee of W. B. M. Brooks, and as plaintiff in a circuit court suit in which Brooks was a defendant, sold about 96 acres of Brooks' land to Henry C. Merhoff, a Jefferson County dairy farmer, as shown below. This appears to be the tract located south of the homestead tract shown in the lower-right corner of the drawing shown below.

This indenture made this 12th day of September and the year 1893 between W. T. Morrow, assignee of W. B. M. Brooks by R. F. Hays, special commissioner of the Bullitt circuit court of the one part and H. C. Merhoff of the other part.
Witnesseth that whereas by a judgment of the Bullitt circuit court rendered at the March term 1893 of said Court in an action number __ pending in said Court, wherein W. T. Morrow, assignee W. B. M. Brooks, was plaintiff and W. B. M. Brooks and others were defendants it was ordered and adjudged that hte property hereinafter described be sold and R. F. Hays, special commissioner of said court, was directed to make the sale which was accordingly made as directed in said judgment on the 12th day of June 1893, and H. C. Merhoff became the purchaser of said property at his bid of $1640.56, and said commissioner having made his report of said sale at the September term 1893 of said court, and the same having been confirmed at said term by a further order of said court, and the purchase money having been paid, said R. F. Hays was at the September term 1893 of said court appointed commissioner to convey said property for and on behalf of the said parties of the first part to the said H. C. Merhoff.
Now for and in consideration of the premises aforesaid the said W. T. Morrow, assignee of W. B. M. Brooks, by said R. F. Hays, special commissioner, do hereby sell and convey to the said H. C. Merhoff, his heirs and assigns, the following described property situated and being in the county of Bullitt and state of Kentucky, and bounded as follows, viz.
Beginning in the center of the turnpike opposite a stone on the East side of said turnpike at "B" on plat, thence with the line of the Homestead South 70 1/2° East 49 poles to a stone, thence North 22 1/2° East 40 poles to a stone, thence South 70 1/2° East 53 1/2 poles to a stone in the original line, thence South 21 1/2° West 157 poles to a stone in the county road thence North 88 1/4° West 104 poles to a stone in the center of the unfinished turnpike at "C" thence with the center of the turnpike North 6° East 14 poles, North 20 1/4° East 130 poles to the beginning containing 96 1/2 acres.
To have and to hold all the right, title, interest, and claim of the parties of the first part in and to said property to the said H. C. Merhoff, his heirs and assigns forever. In witness whereof the said R. F. Hayes as commissioner as aforesaid, has affixed his signature the day and year first above written.
