R. J. Meyler to Peter Gray - A Town Lot

In 1873, R. J. Meyler sold a lot of land in Shepherdsville to Peter Gray. This ground lay north of the original Shepherdsville plat and between the extended Main Street and Doctor's Alley.

Bullitt County Deed Book T, Pages 508-509

This indenture made and entered into this 27th day of December 1873 between R. J. Meyler and Josie his wife of the first part and Peter Gray of the second part, all of Bullitt County, Kentucky.

Witnesseth that for and in consideration of $250 heretofore paid at sundry time to John Magruder as evidenced by the receipts of said Magruder to the second party, the first party being the legal title holder and owner of the property herein conveyed, but the sale by Magruder to the second party having been made by bond before the first party before the first party became the owner thereof and wishing to perfect the title to the second party have this day and do hereby grant, bargain, sell, convey and deliver unto the second party the following property to wit.

One house and lot and outhouses and appurtenances thereon situate in Bullitt County, Kentucky opposite the Kalfus old tanyard in Shepherdsville where Will Tilford now lives, and adjoining John Magruder on the north and Doctor's Alley extended on the east, the old William Welch lot in the south and Main Street of the west.

It is not known whether the fence now on the lot aforesaid on the south side thereof is on the true line dividing said lot from the George Welch or William Welch lot, but the true line of the William Welch lot is the southern line of the land and lot here conveyed.

To have and to hold the same forever together with the improvements and appurtenances, and the first party covenants to forever warrant the the title to the lot here conveyed unto the second party and his heirs and assigns against himself and his heirs and all persons claiming by through or under them.
