Dr. J. R. Holsclaw was also postmaster of Zoneton. According to his death certificate, Dr. Holsclaw was born 4 Oct 1850 to J. R. Holsclaw and his wife, Elizabeth Sanders Holsclaw. Dr. Holsclaw died on 1 Jul 1938 at 87.

Their son, Jessie Lee Houck, was boarding with a family in Louisville, and attending school. The census gives his birth was Jan 1890. His death certificate indicates that he was born 7 Jan 1890 and died 2 Mar 1944.
Carrie L. Houck, daughter of John L. Crenshaw and Martha Dayton Crenshaw, his wife, was born 23 Apr 1870. At the time of her death, she was the widow of Dr. Isaac T. Houck. She died on 25 Dec 1945.

The museum, along with its research room, is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Saturday appointments are available by calling 502-921-0161 during our regular weekday hours. Admission is free. The museum, as part of the Bullitt County Genealogical Society, is a 501(c)3 tax exempt organization and is classified as a 509(a)2 public charity.
