This indenture made this sixth day of July 1833 between Charles Maraman and Lavina, his wife of the county of Bullitt and state of Kentucky of the one part, and Francis Maraman of the same county and state of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Charles, Maraman, and wife for and in consideration of the sum of $565 to them in hand paid before the sealing and delivery hereof, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained and sold, and by these presents, do grant, bargain and sell, alien, release, convey and confirm unto the said Francis Maraman, a certain tract or a parcel of land, situate lying and being on the south side of Salt River in Bullitt County containing 100 acres of Shepherd's survey of 600 acres and bounded as follows, to wit.

Beginning at a hickory and honey locust stumps (Shepherd's corner), thence North 36° East 156 poles to an elm, beech and sweet gum on the bank of Salt River, thence South 54° East 102 poles and fifteen links to a stake, thence South 36° West 156 poles to a stake in the original line of said survey, thence with said line North 54° West 102 poles, and 15 links to the beginning.

Also a certain tract or parcel of land situate lying and being on the south side of Salt River in said county containing 92 acres, be the same more or less, part of Shepherd and Honey's surveys and bounded as follows, to wit.

Beginning at a sweet gum standing on the east side of the main road from Shepherdsville to Elizabethtown and Bardstown, thence South 57 1/2° West 214 poles to a small ash and sweet gum, thence South 71 1/2° West 38 poles to a stake in the first line of Shepherd's 600 acre survey, thence South 36° West about 40 poles with said line to a stake, Shepherd's corner, thence with the second line of said survey North 54° West 30 poles to a stake, thence North 36° East 247 poles to a stake, thence South 48° East 30 poles to a beech in the first line of said 600 acres, thence with a line of said 23 1/2 acres East 90 poles to three beeches near the head of a hollow, corner to said tract, thence with another of said lines South 84° West 12 poles to the beginning.

To have, and to hold said tracts or parcels of land and appurtenances unto him, the said, Francis Maraman, his heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, and to his, and their only proper use, benefit and behoof forever. And the said Charles Maraman and Lavina his wife for themselves and their heirs do covenant and agree to and with the said Francis Maraman, that they will and their heirs shall, warrant and forever defend the said tracts or parcels of land and appurtenances to the said Francis Maraman, his heirs, executors administrators and assigns from themselves, their heirs, and from all persons claiming the same. In testimony whereof the said Charles Maraman and Lavina his wife hereto set their hands and seals the day and year before written. (signed) Charles Maraman, Lavina Maraman.

State of Kentucky, Bullit County Court Office, 6th July 1833 I Noah C Summers, clerk of the said Bullitt County Court, do hereby certify that the foregoing deed from Charles Maraman and Lavina his wife to Francis Maraman, was this day produced to me in my office and acknowledged by the said Charles Maraman and Lavina, his wife, to be their voluntary act and deed. She, the said Lavina his wife, being examined separately and apart from her said husband, declared that she did freely and willingly sign and deliver said deed, and again declared, the same having been explained to her that she freely and voluntarily acknowledged said deed and wished not to retract it and was willing the same should be entered of record, which is truly recorded in my said office.Att.
