In his will written on 10 Feb 1819, and recorded in Bullitt County Will Book A, pages 306, Jesse Simmons identified the following individuals: sons Lilburn, Sedwick, William Simmons; and daughters Elizabeth Leeright, Catherine Ruby, and Sarah Rouse.

In the name of God, amen. I Jesse SIMMONS of Bullitt County and citizen of Kentucky being weak and frail in body but being in my right mind and possessing fully all my rational faculty do ordain, make and appoint this my last will and testament in the manner and form following towit:
First of all it is my will and devise that all my just debts be punctually paid out of my estate.
2nd I give and bequeath unto my beloved Sons Lilburn, Sedwick and William Simmons this plantation manor I now live containing this hundred and twenty three acres to them and their heirs forever, share and share alike.
3rd It is my will and devise that all the remaining part of my estate of every description both real and personal or mind along with two negro men named Basil and Peter be sold to the highest bidder in twelve months credit for both and the money received thereupon to be divided in the following manner towit: Lilburn, Sedwick, William Simmons, my three sons and Elizabeth Leeright and Catherine Ruby my two daughters shall have an equal proportion, share and share alike - also the legal heirs of my daughter Sarah Rouse shall have an equal part of said money to be equally divided amongst them and to be paid to them as they may arrive at lawful age or marry. Also I give and bequeath unto my daughter Sarah Rouse five shillings in current money to be paid her out of my estate, and lastly I appoint my beloved sons Lilburn and William Simmons my executors to this my last will and testament, whereby I revoke, disanull and make void all other or prior wills or testaments I have made ... In testimony hereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 10th day of February in the year of Our Lord 1819.
