James C. Graham to John Graham - 3 Town Lots

On 10 Apr 1824, James C. Graham sold 3 tracts to John Graham, one identified as new plan lot 51 in Shepherdsville, and the other two lying adjoining the town to the north, as shown below.

This indenture made this the 10th day of April 1824 by and between James C. Graham and Gemima Graham, his wife of the county of Nelson and state of Kentucky of the one part and John Graham of the county of Bullitt and state aforesaid of the other part.

Witnesseth that the said James C. Graham, and Gemima, his wife, for and in consideration of the sum of $600 current money of Kentucky to them in hand paid by the said John Graham, the receipt whereof they do hereby, acknowledge, have granted, bargained and sold and do by these presents grant, bargain and sell, alien, release and convey unto the said John Graham, the following lot or parcel of ground in the town of Shepherdsville, to wit;

Lot No. 67 in the old plan and No. 51 in the new plan of the town of Shepherdsville on the north side of Water Street of said town with all and singular the improvements thereon, being the same conveyed to said James C. Graham by the trustees of said town (Shepherdsville) by deed bearing date the second day of September 1818, reference being had there to will more fully appear.

Also 1/2 acre of ground adjoining the town of Shepherdsville and bounded as follows to wit. Beginning at Michael Ryan's upper corner running thence North 6 1/2° East 198'11" to a stake, thence South 83 1/2° East 99'5" to a stake, thence South 6 1/2° West 198'11" to a stake, corner of said Ryan, thence North 83 1/2° West 99'5" with Ryan's line to the beginning.

Also one other lot of ground adjoining the town of Shepherdsville containing 1/2 acre and bounded as follows to wit. Beginning at the south west corner of the lot conveyed to Ryan, thence North 6 1/2° East 198'11" with Ryan's line to his corner, a stake, thence South 83 1/2° West 99'5" to a stake, thence South 6 1/2° West 198'11" to a stake, thence North 83 1/2° West 99'5" to the beginning with all and singular the appurtenances to the said described three lots or parcels of ground in and adjoining said town of Shepherdsville to the said John Graham and his heirs &c forever; and the said James C. Graham and Gemima Graham his wife for themselves and their heirs will and shall warrant and defend the aforesaid lots or parcels of ground unto the said John Graham and his heirs &c from themselves, their heirs and all persons lawfully claiming or to claim the same.

In testimony whereof the said James C. Graham and Gemima his wife have hereto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written.
