Thomas Joyce to Robert F. Samuels - Haystack Mortgage

Following a Circuit Court suit between W. A. Hall and H. C. Ulen and Thomas Joyce, the latter two were obligated to Hall financially, and Joyce appears to have mortgaged 17 stacks of hay with Samuels acting as his security.

Whereas on he 31st day of October 1850, and execution issued from the office of the Bullitt Circuit Court in the name of W. A. Hall against H. C. Ulen and Thomas Joyce for the sum of $187.27 and interest from 13 October 1845, and $10.70 and $3.71 costs subject to a credit of $80 paid in August 1846, which execution has been levied on seventeen stacks of hay of defendant Joyce, and R. F. Samuels has this day replevied said debt for defendant Joyce and said seventeen stacks of hay is bound to said R. F. Samuels to secure him in his securityship in said replevin bond.
