W. G. Hays deeded this school lot to the school district on 14 Aug 1888. From the deed description, this is likely the Hays School along the road to the Woolridge ferry across Rolling Fork River, as shown here. Bullitt County Deed Book 29, Pages 431-432
This deed made this 14th day of August 1888 by and between W. G. Hays and his wife Martha A. Hays of the County of Bullitt and state of Kentucky of the first part and Charles Ryan and W. T. Hill and Harry Howlett and their successors in Bullitt County, Kentucky of the second parties as trustees of District No. 29 in Bullitt County, Kentucky.
Witnesseth for the following considerations and purposes for one acre of land to be used for school purposes and public gatherings, and not to be used for private purposes or private family dwelling, parties of the second part agrees to keep said acre with a good fence around it said acre bounded as follows.
Beginning at the Wooldridge ferry road at a point where Noah Smith's 100 acre tract known as the Henry Huffman tract crosses said road, thence up the road 70 yards, thence out parallel from road 70 yards, thence parallel with the road 70 yards, thence back to the beginning 70 yards, making one square acre for the consideration of $25 cash in hand, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged.
To have and to hold the said one acre of land for the above privileges and with all its privileges and appurtenances and herediments unto the said second parties and their successors and their heirs and assigns forever with covenant of general warranty and defending to the extent of the interest hereby conveyed.
