In 1889, E. W. Hall sold a lot of ground in Shepherdsville, north of the original town plat between an extension of Main Street and Doctor's Alley to Elizabeth "Lizzie" Rickerson, as shown below.

This deed made and entered into this the 19th day of October 1889 by and between E. W. Hall, unmarried, of the first part and Elizabeth C. Rickerson of the second part, both of Shepherdsville, Bullitt County, Kentucky.
Witnesseth that the first party for and in consideration of the sum of $400 paid and to be paid by the second party as follows: $325 cash on hand paid, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, and $75 due and payable one year from this date, evidenced by the promissory note of said second party of even date herewith bearing 6% per annum interest from date till paid, and to secure its payment a lien is retained on the property hereby conveyed, the said E. W. Hall has granted, bargained and sold and hereby sells, conveys and delivers to the said Elizabeth C. Rickerson, her heirs and assigns forever with covenant of general warranty the following described house and lot situated in the town of Shepherdsville, Bullitt County, Kentucky on Main Street extended, being the same property conveyed to the first party by J. L. Sanders Col. on the 6th day of December 1888, and bounded as follows.
Beginning on Main Street at the northwest corner of Peter Gray's lot, thence east with Peter Gray's lot to Doctor's Alley extended, thence with a line of Doctor's Alley extended 100 feet to a stake, thence parallel with the first line westwardly to a stake in a line of Peter Gray's front line extended, thence southwardly 100 feet to the beginning.
To have and to hold the same with all the appurtenances thereon and therewith belonging unto the said second party Elizabeth C. Rickerson, her heirs and assigns forever. Witness the hand of the grantor the day and year first herein written. (signed) E. W. Hall
