We recently learned of a video of the Gospel Kingdom Campground on You Tube placed there by a great-grandson of Reva Mears. With it he included the following text:
"This is rare film footage of the Gospel Kingdom Campground that was founded by William Sowders in 1935 in Shepherdsville, KY. My great grandfather Reva Mears used a 16 mm camera to film the Campground in 1939. Reva's eldest son Cornelius Mears crawled up on top of the water tower to get some of this material. Pastor Steve Farmer from Christian Gospel Temple has helped me to acquire some of the supporting photographs used in this video."

The Campground is located west of Shepherdsville on Mount Elmira Road just off Highway 44 West. A map showing this location is provided below.

The Bullitt County History Museum, a service of the Bullitt County Genealogical Society, is located in the county courthouse at 300 South Buckman Street (Highway 61) in Shepherdsville, Kentucky. The museum, along with its research room, is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Saturday appointments are available by calling 502-921-0161 during our regular weekday hours. Admission is free. The museum, as part of the Bullitt County Genealogical Society, is a 501(c)3 tax exempt organization and is classified as a 509(a)2 public charity.
