On 1 Mar 1860, George Joyce concluded the sale of his 100 acres in the Knobs to R. F. Samuels as shown below.

Whereas heretofore on the 15th day of March 1858 under an execution in the name of Nicholas Simmons against George Joyce &c, my farm of 100 acres lying on the knobs and adjoining William Green was sold by Richard W. Deats, Sheriff of Bullitt County, and Robert F. Samuels became the purchaser at the sum of $94.46, and paid the money and said George Joyce having failed to redeem said purchase the same is forfeited and is the property of said Samuels.
Now for the further consideration of my note to said Samuels for $104.52 dated and due the 14th day of September 1859 for borrowed money and the further consideration of $35 in money paid me in hand, I George Joyce do hereby sell and convey unto the said Robert F. Samuels and his heirs and assigns by deed with covenant of general warranty the said tract or parcel of land containing 100 acres lying and being in the county of Bullitt, being the same land conveyed by John Berry and wife to the said George Joyce by deed dated the 20th day of November 1845 and bounded as follows.
Beginning at two beeches and a sugar tree at the intersection of Malone and Myers (now Green's) line North 21°48' East 230 poles to two beeches and a sugar tree on a branch, thence with the line of said Joyce's land North 52°15' West 72 poles to a sugar tree on the top of the knob, thence South 21° 48' West 252 poles, 20 links to a hollow beech marked C. J. in Westfall's line, thence with the same North 88°15' East 34 1/2 poles to a white walnut and two black walnuts, thence South 6° East 24 poles, 20 links to a large beech and two dogwoods on the east side of a drain, thence North 84° East 28 1/2 poles to the beginning.
