In this transaction, Deputy Austin Hall executed a circuit court order to sell 100 acres on the south side of Salt River belonging to Benjamin Stansbury, and Francis Maraman was the purchaser on 29 Aug 1832.

This indenture made this 29th day August in the year of Christ 1832 between Austin Hall, deputy for James Samuels, Sheriff of Bullitt County of the one part and Francis Maraman, all of Bullitt County, Kentucky. Witness that whereas on the 20th day of March in the present year 1832 there issued from the clerk's office of the Bullitt Circuit Court two several executions Fiere facias, one of which being numbered 423, it in the name of William McDaniel against the estate of Benjamin Stansberry for the sum of $15 damages and $12.95 1/2 costs, the other of which being numbered 425 it in the name of Henry Horine against the estate of said Benjamin Stansberry for the sum of $15 damages and $9.58 costs. Both of which bear date on the said 20th day of March 1832 and are made returnable on the 12th day of May 1832, being the rule day thereof and which said executions are directed to the Sheriff of Bullitt County, and on the day of the date thereof, both said executions came regularly to the hands of Austin Hall, deputy as aforesaid, who thereon made the following endorsement and return, to wit.
Came to hand the 20th day of March 1832 and on each of said executions is the following return, to wit: Levied on a tract of land lying and the south side of Salt River in Bullitt County containing one hundred acres more or less, known by the name of Stansberry's bottom below Shepherdsville the 20th of March 1832, and no sale for want of bidders. A. Hall, D.S. for James Samuels, S.B.C. And whereas also afterwards, to wit, on the 18th day of June in the year 1832, there issued from the clerk's office of the Bullitt Circuit Court two several executions venditioni exponas, the one number 508 and the other in the name of the said William McDaniel directed to the sheriff of Bullitt County commanding him to expose to sale that estate of Benjamin Stansberry consisting of a tract of land lying on the south side of Salt River below Shepherdsville known by it name of Stansberry's bottom to the amount of $15 each and the costs which in execution No. 508 amounted to $9.93 and in execution No. 509 amounted to the sum of $13.41 which said executions were each made returnable to the 11th day of August 1832, being the rule day thereof on both of which executions was endorsed that either notes of the Bank of Kentucky or branches or notes on the Bank of the Commonwealth of Kentucky or its branches would be received in discharge thereof or any part thereof and on execution No. 508 was endorsed a credit of $3.66.
By virtue of which said executions the said Austin Hall, deputy sheriff as aforesaid after having advertised the time and place of sale as required by law and given the said defendant Benjamin Stansberry legal notice thereof on the 18th day of June 1832 being the first day of the June term of the Bullitt County Court within the hours prescribed by law at the door of the courthouse in Shepherdsville proceeded to sell all the right and title of the said Stansberry in and to said land in market overt first demanding of the bystanders who would pay the damages and costs of said executions in Commonwealth or Kentucky bank paper for the least quantity of the said tract of land and receiving no bid he the said deputy sheriff then proceeded to sell the whole tract for what it would bring in like paper money, and Francis Maraman being the highest bidder became the purchaser for the sum of $30 in Commonwealth paper or Kentucky Bank paper payable in three months (the sale being made on credit of three months) and the purchaser preferred paying in money in hand which he did accordingly to the said deputy sheriff all of which will appear by reference to the returns of the said deputy now on file in the clerk's office of the Bullitt Circuit Court.
Now this indenture witness that I the said Austin Hall, deputy sheriff for James Samuels, sheriff of Bullitt County, have this day for and in consideration of the promises aforesaid and the money paid to me by the said Maraman and by virtue of the power vested in me by law have granted, bargained and sold and by these presents do give, grant, bargain and sell unto the said Francis Maraman, his heirs &c the aforesaid tract of land lying on the south side of Salt River below Shepherdsville in Bullitt County containing about 100 acres, be the same more or less and known bhy its name of Stansberry's bottom with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining to him the said Francis Maraman, his heirs and assigns forever, free and clear of and from the claim of him the said Benjamin Stansberry and his heirs and all persons claiming or to claim the same by, through him or them or either of them.
And the said Austin Hall, deputy as aforesaid, does hereby covenant and agree to and with the said Francis Maraman and his heirs and so forth that he the said Hall will and his heirs shall forever warrant and defend the title to the said tract of land as well against the claim of him the said Hall and all persons claiming through or under as against the claim of him the said B. Stansberry and all persons claiming by, through or under him as fully and effectually as he by law and by virtue of his said office may do, but not against the claim or claims of any other person or persons whatever. But the said Hall is not to be responsible in his individual capacity in case the land or any part thereof should be lost by defective title.
