W. J. Colbow to Carpenter & Smith - Part of Shepherdsville Lot 25

In April 1866, William J. Colbow sold his part of Shepherdsville lot #25 to Wilhite Carpenter and James Smith. On it was his store house which had formerly been owned by someone else whose name is difficult to decipher, but may have been H. J. Crazer or something similar.

This indenture made and entered into this __ day of April 1866 between William J. Colbow and Susan his wife of the first part and Wilhite Carpenter and James Smith, all of the county of Bullitt and state of Kentucky.

Witness that the parties of the first part have this day bargained, and sold, and by these presents do convey unto the parties of the second part for the consideration of $400 in hand to the said W. J. Colbow paid, the receipt of which sum he hath acknowledged, the following property to-wit.

The said W. J. Colbow store house in Shepherdsville, Bullitt County, Kentucky, formerly owned by H. J. Crazer [?] and bounded as follows.

Beginning at a point 25 feet south of the southeast corner of the clerk's office at the curb stone, running thence east 21 feet with the curb stone where it strikes the middle of the alley between said Colbow and E. H. McCormick, running thence north 84 feet where it strikes the lot of Mrs. Malinda Samuels', thence west 21 feet, thence south 84 feet to the beginning.

To have and to hold said house or property to the said second parties and to their heirs forever. And the said first parties hereby warrant and defend the title to said property by this deed of general warranty.
