Judy Richardson was selected for the 2023 Award of Service
It was presented at the annual Christmas Party. Judy has been at the museum since 2006 and her dedication to us has been extraordinary. She has done much research on Gardner McKay who is buried in Bullitt County. She has spent hours on the Civil War research for the museum and she also sends out the 1912 Exams. Thank you Judy for your commitment to the Bullitt County History Museum.

Charles Hartley was selected for the 2022 Award of Service

Sherry Lee was selected for the 2021 Award of Service.

2018
In 2018 Bullitt County Genealogical Society placed a ballot in their quarterly publication the Wilderness Road for their membership to vote to award a member for their outstanding service to the society. Voting took place over the last year. Ballots were collected and counted and on Saturday, December 8, 2018 the results were revealed and the award presentation took place.
After Ballots had been counted it was revealed that there was a tie. The officers conferred and made the decision to award both worthy winners. The winners were Society Secretary Shirley Miller who has served in that capacity for the last 13 years and Ed Lee who has been a volunteer at the Bullitt County History Museum for the last 10 years and has served as director of the Bullitt County Genealogical Society for the last 4 years.
2016
The 2016 Bullitt County Genealogical Service Award winner was Beverly Owen. Beverly served as treasurer, updating and modernizing our financial software.

2015
Daniel Buxton, past president of the Bullitt County Genealogical Society and longtime active volunteer, has been awarded the annual Genealogical Society service award. This photo shows current president Sherry Lee presenting the award. Congratulations, Daniel!

2014
The 2014 Award was presented to David Strange, long-time director of the Bullitt County History Museum, by Daniel Buxton.
2013
The 2013 Award was presented to Betty Darnell, local genealogist and editor of the Wilderness Road quarterly.
2012
The 2012 Award was given posthumously to Edith Blissett. Plaque was accepted by her grandsons Tyler and Chaise Blissett and presented by Daniel Buxton President.
2011
The 2011 Award was given posthumously to Mary Louise Sabetti. Plaque was accepted by Barbara Bailey and presented by Daniel Buxton President.
2010
The Bullitt County Genealogical Society has awarded Barbara Bailey, Ken Bailey and Doris Owen the Bullitt County Genealogical Society Award of Service.
Doris Owen is one the co-founders of the society and the President for many years. Ken and Barbara Bailey are both past Presidents and long time members of the society. These special people were awarded this honor for their many years of service and dedication to the preservation of Bullitt County History.

The Bullitt County History Museum, a service of the Bullitt County Genealogical Society, is located in the county courthouse at 300 South Buckman Street (Highway 61) in Shepherdsville, Kentucky. The museum, along with its research room, is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Saturday appointments are available by calling 502-921-0161 during our regular weekday hours. Admission is free. The museum, as part of the Bullitt County Genealogical Society, is a 501(c)3 tax exempt organization and is classified as a 509(a)2 public charity.
